At Southside Building Center you’ll always get rock bottom prices, like our economy shingles. When you’re considering a large investment like a new roof, you’ll want to know your options. We have a great selection of both three tab and architectural shingles in stock, but what’s the difference?
Upon first glance at your roof you probably can’t tell the difference in the two types of shingles, but appearances can be deceiving. A three-tab shingle is one large piece that consists of three separate tabs. These work in a layer method to shed water to other layers of shingles below.
Architectural shingles, also sometimes referred to as dimensional, look different than three tab shingles because they are one flat layer and much thicker than traditional shingles. This hardiness makes it more difficult for strong winds and storms to blow them off. Normally architectural shingles are available in many different custom sizes and shapes as well and can be customized in appearance to match your home.
When considering a new roof make sure you stop by Southside Building Center and take a look at all of our shingles in many colors – both three tab and architectural. As always, our trained staff is here to answer any questions and guide you in your buying decision. Stop in today!
