About Southside Building Center

Southside Building Center has been serving homeowners and contractors in Winston-Salem and the surrounding Triad for decades, but the story of our building goes back even further.

The uniquely shaped building that houses Southside today originally began as a local flea market. Over time, one small vendor selling roofing shingles began expanding, gradually taking over more and more of the space until the entire building became 109 Building Supply, a full-service building materials store.

In the mid-2000s, the business evolved again and became Southside Bargain Center, offering deeply discounted home improvement products along with unique finds sourced from building supply auctions. For many years, customers visited Southside to hunt for great deals and unecpected treasures.

In 2020, the business entered a new chapter.

Under family ownership, the store was reimagined as Southside Building Center, with a renewed focus on serving both homeowners and professional contractors with reliable, first-quality building materials and dependable service. While the spirit of value remains, the priority today is providing trusted products, knowledgeable guidance, and the kind of service that keeps projects moving forward.

Today Southside Building Center supplies a wide range of building and remodeling materials including roofing, flooring, kitchen cabinets, doors, windows, lumber, paint, hardware, plumbing supplies, and electrical products.

Our team works every day to help our customers buld and improve their homes with confidence.

Southside Building Center remains proudly family owned and locally operated, and we are grateful to serve the builders, homeowners, and tradespeople who help shape our community.
