Rust-Oleum has a great line of crafting pain, including Chalked Ultra Matte Paint, and Milk Paint finish. Each type of paint has its own set of talents that will help you as you transform ordinary pieces into fabulous works of art. There are a lot of similarities between the two paints, but they are quite different.
Chalked paint is a water based paint that has a chalky powder mixed into the liquid. It produces a matte finish that makes imperfections and brush strokes look shabby chic and charming. It’s great for achieving a farmhouse look for upcycling, crafting, distressing, waxing and so much more. Chalk based paint often only needs one coat for great coverage.
Milk Paint, on the other hand, is a thinner water based paint, which actually has the milk protein casein in it. It’s designed to be layered until the desired color is reached. When used over raw wood, milk soaks in much like a stain, enhancing the grain, and giving an antique look and a textured feel.
Both milk and chalk based Rust-Oleum paints are pre-mixed. You can used them on raw, painted, or varnished wood, metal, aluminum, and glass, with very little preparation. They leave a nice, matte finish that make it perfect for upcycling or repainting old furniture, for giving an aged look to new pieces, for crafts, walls, cabinetry, and so much more.
