Harry Harshaw is the inventer of ProColor Stain Guard. Harry often accept invitations to demonstrate how to use the product, and as you could imagine, he has great tips.
He points out the need to consider environmental conditions and recommends the use of distilled water for projects. He advises “Don’t add additives and don’t use extra water.” Too much water can dilute the product, making it less effective. The product should be the consistency of peanut butter.
He also advises that the working environment should be at least 70 degrees Fahrenheit or warmer. Cooler temperatures could mean that the cement doesn’t cure properly and wouldn’t have a lasting bond or strength.
Properly formulated, ProColor product creates a strong, chemical bond. It works with every manufacturers’ grout and gives great color consistency that resists stains.
