Recently we had customers come in with a kitchen layout prepared by a big box store. We see those a lot, and it really helps us to show you where you can save money. These particular customers had an estimate for $11,000. Their price included 37″ custom cabinets with plywood sides, glazing, formica countertops – and a free kitchen sink.
Right off the bat we saw where we could save a lot of money. We advised them to change their 37″ custom cabinets to a standard size 36″. AT the other store, the custom cabinets were going to be $540 each! Our one inch change trimmed $300 for each cabinet, even at our competitor’s prices. But our price for each cabinet is only $150, meaning we’re going to save them a whopping $390 for every cabinet they install.
The estimate they showed us also included a $1500 cost for plywood sides and another $800 charge for the glazing. We offer those things standard; you don’t have to pay extra!
