It pays to do research when you buy anything, but in some cases, the lowest price may not be your best price. Here’s a case in point:
Southside customers usually like a bargain, so we weren’t extremely surprised to hear one customer ask about why his custom door order was going to be $30 more expensive than our competitor.
To answer his question, our door craftsman explained to him the benefit of having an on site Door Shop – how fast we can get it done, our experienced craftsmen, and the way we can do adjustments.
This particular customer decided to buy his door from one of our competitors; however, when it arrived three weeks later, he came back to see us.
He wasn’t happy because his brand new door had the wrong hand. In other words, the door swung in the wrong direction, so the hinges and knob needed to be switched over. In order to get that change from the place he had purchased it, his only option was to re-order it and wait for another three weeks. Unfortunately, that delay impacted the completion date for his house
and the final price paid to his contractor.
The problems with the door were already costing him a whole lot more than the initial $30 he had saved. In the end, he hired our door craftsman to change the hand on his original door so that he wouldn’t be delayed any more than he had to.
The moral of this little story is that the Door Shop adds value to every door you purchase. You never know what kind of changes you may need, but when they’re needed, you can count on quality custom work at a fair price, in a timely manner.
