Like all Luxury Vinyl Flooring, installation starts with a clean, dry, level surface. No The flooring can be concrete, plywood, or even other flooring such as old linoleum! Any oil and dirt needs to be thoroughly removed, and holes need to be filled. But no subfloor is needed.
To install Happy Feet, you need a utility knife, a carpenter’s square or ruler, and a tape measure. You do not need glue, because the flooring is just laid down. You start by laying the first piece directly against the wall. For the rest of the floor, you simply lay the pieces tightly against each other.
Two of our customers purchased this kind of flooring for their rental home, and they started and finished in one day. One of two came back to the store about halfway through the afternoon to pick up another box, and she let us know how easy the process had been for them.
